I help small start-ups, and seriously successful salon owners in the skin, beauty, hair and cosmetic industries by delivering smart and effective salon social media solutions.
HI, I'M NATALIE
Running a salon business and MANAGING your social media at the same time can be very overwhelming.
There’s no denying that social media is HELPFUL to salon businesses, however, it can be TIME-CONSUMING and most of the time overwhelming.
There are a lot of things that you need to do and KEEP TRACK when you do social media marketing.
You have to PLAN CONTENT, DESIGN GRAPHICS, SCHEDULE POSTS, and TRACK ANALYTICS.
Thankfully there are tools and platforms readily AVAILABLE to help make social media management EASY!
Tools for content curation, scheduling, publishing, and analytics are used to enhance the EFFECTIVITY of your salon’s social media.
My team and I use these management tools to oversee our clients’ and SALON SOCIAL MEDIA’s social media account.
I have listed down helpful management tools that I use for my clients, sorted according to their purpose!
Schedule your content and post to your social media accounts easily using these scheduling tools.
1. Hootsuite
For entrepreneurs running multiple social media accounts for their businesses, Hootsuite is something you should look into.
You can manage your Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, and WordPress blog through one channel—the ultimate command central
On Hootsuite you can monitor social media streams so you won’t have to open several browser tabs or apps in order to maintain your accounts.
It also has a media library to keep your assets in one place which make it convenient in managing your social media accounts.
You can choose among 5 Hootsuite plans for your business; Free, Professional (from $348 per year), Team (from $1,548 per year), Business (from $7,188 per year), and Enterprise.
2. Planoly
For businesses that use Instagram, FACEBOOK and Pinterest as their main social media platforms, PLANOLY is the management tool you should use.
You can manage, plan, and schedule your posts, including Instagram stories.
Planoly’s user interface is easy to use, especially for those less tech-savvy individuals.
It’s also great for content planning as you can visually plan and organise your Instagram posts, thanks to Planoly’s grid view.
Planoly is the management tool that I prefer to use in managing my clients’ Instagram profiles.
If you are ready to use Planoly for your salon’s Instagram, just download the Planoly app on the app store and sign up for an account!
3. Buffer
The third social media scheduling tool I recommend is Buffer!
Buffer, like Hootsuite and Planoly, is also easy to use and great for beginners. You can manage your Instagram and Facebook from this
You can customise a schedule for each social media platform and if you add the Buffer browser extension, you can easily share an article you find relevant!
Buffer also has a metrics breakdown feature for when you want to check how your social media posts are doing!
Create graphic designs for your social media posts using these easy-to-use graphic design platforms you can access through your browser.
4. Canva
Let’s talk about my FAVE graphic design platform first!
Canva is as easy as DRAG-AND-DROP! You don’t need a degree in graphic design to be able to create STRIKING visual content.
It’s a design tool for non-designers!
You can be CREATIVE by tweaking with all the tools and objects available, and the good news is that Canva has a lot of templates you can use for FREE!
Canva has TEMPLATES for social media, blog headers, infographics, brochures, flyers etc.
There’s also a MEDIA LIBRARY in Canva where you can upload your photos and logos. If you just want to use the FREE PLAN, you can upload and store up to 1 GB of media files.
Canva also AUTOMATICALLY saves your work so you don’t have to worry about losing any PROGRESS when you get disconnected from the Internet.
If you have social media TEAM, you can use a feature on the PRO package where you can share designs with other accounts.
And when you are out and about and need to access your designs, you can do so by using the Canva mobile app!
When you subscribe to their premium plans you will be able to use paid stock photos, cliparts, and other premium templates.
5. Piktochart
Here’s another cloud design tool you can use to CREATE templates for your salon social media!
Piktochart WORKS the same way Canva does, and the only difference they have according to users is that Piktochart is easier to use than Canva.
I strongly believe that it will depend on users’ PREFERENCE, so it will still be up to you which one you would want to use.
6. Stencil
The third CLOUD-BASED design software I can recommend is Stencil!
You can create images with transparent backgrounds for FREE (on Canva in order to use this feature you need to pay for the PRO package.)
You can also ACCESS 2,500+ Google fonts within the tool, no uploading required.
For the free plan, you can upload and store 50 photos on your account. You are also limited to save 10 images per month.
Just like Canva and Piktochart, Stencil also has a lot of templates you can use for your salon.
The social media profiles for your SALON BUSINESS won’t be as effective if you don’t MEASURE the return of investment.
Social media specialists and marketing EXPERTS use analytics tools to keep track of your salon’s social media METRICS.
7. Google Analytics
For your salon’s WEBSITE, you can use Google analytics.
Through Google Analytics you can TRACK theTRAFFIC to your website, what page visitors spend the most time on & engage with, and where your visitors come from (google search or social media websites).
Best thing is that it is FREE!
8. Instagram and Facebook Analytics
Now that more businesses are doing SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING, social media platforms have built-in analytics to keep track of your salon’s social media PERFORMANCE.
The FEATURES and categories you can check are the number of followers you LOSE and GAIN per day, engagement per photo, link clicks, visitors, and the BEST time when your followers are most ACTIVE.
In conclusion, salon owners must IMPROVE their social media marketing strategy by CONSISTENTLY keeping track of your social media analytics!
Pick the ones that you want to USE for your salon. You don’t have to use all of these social media management tools, just FOCUS on the ones that are IMPORTANT to your salon business and you’re comfortable with.
I know by experience that it’s DIFFICULT to do all of these things at once. Hence, the birth of SALON SOCIAL MEDIA!
My mission is to help SALON OWNERS strive and be successful in MARKETING their salon business ONLINE.
